“Kasama” means togetherness, friendship, camaraderie, and collaboration. It is exactly how the Kasama Lunar New Year Chocolate bars began two years ago.

I am very honoured to collaborate with amazing @kasamachocolate team on Lunar New Year chocolate bar for the third year! From brainstorming ideas, creating recipes, testing prototype, to finalizing the details, the “togetherness” are rare moments I hold close to my heart.

Hakka Pounded Tea (Lei Cha 擂茶) Cookie

What is Hakka Pounded Tea (Lei Cha)?
It is a tea-based beverage, consists a mix of tea leaves, toasted rice, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds. Traditionally the ingredients are ground in a mortar and pestle till powdery consistency. Hot water is stirred into it to make a thin soup-like drink. The soothing fragrance from tea leaves is accompanied by nutty aroma from toasted nuts and seeds. The scent memories are deeply ingrained in my soul, and reimagined as the Hakka Pounded Tea (Lei Cha) Cookie.
